Holiday Diaries’! ‘Year 5 at Dunston’ December 25th 2010 I and my mum and my dad had a lovely day. I had lots of presents. My best present was my PS3 from mum and dad. For lunch we had a buffet and enjoyed the rest of the day. From Ryan Miskelly. December 24th / 25th / 26th 2010 Today we went round to Nick’s mum’s house for a Christmas party. Christmas morning I got up really early and opened all my presents. It was a really fun day with lots of nice presents. On Boxing Day we went to my grandma’s and my auntie’s house for dinner, and we played pool and darts with my uncle.
From Beth. December24th / 25th / 26th 2010 On Christmas Eve I had to go to hospital because I had croop (really bad cough). Christmas day I woke up feeling bad but also excited, the first thing I did was looked into my stocking and it was full. We went downstairs.....and there were presents everywhere all over the floor!!!!! My pile was the biggest of them all. After opening the presents we went to my grandma’s house. On Boxing Day I went to ‘Frankie & Bennies’ an American restaurant, for dinner. After that we went on to my Auntie’s house for a party. From Mason Allen.

When I opened my Christmas calendar, I did not realize that today was Christmas. Actually, the morning was as usual, dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, play computer. But today I always looked at the clock. The time passed very slowly.
At 4 o clock in the afternoon my grandma came and we ate. Now I could hardly wait for the presents.
But one hour later – finally it was Christmas. I received a digital wristwatch, two things from Lego and sweets.
I gave my grandma a cup. My sister has got a pillow, my father has got a DEO and my mother a picture of my sister, me and my dog. I gave my dog two socks to play. That was a beautiful day.

We were 12 people yesterday. My mother had decorated the whole house for Christmas. My grandmother cooked for us. On Christmas Eve, it must be 12 dishes. This is a Polish tradition. Today my sister Natalie and I have now built a snowman in the garden. I like Christmas, you meet the family and you get nice things.

When I woke up, I ran to my guinea pig and have I filled up a water. Then I made my breakfast and went back to my room. There, I spent time on the PC. Soon it was lunch. We ate the goose that my father had prepared a few days before. We were 6 people, because my mom's friend came with her family. They stayed for a while and soon it was evening.

Today my cousin visited our house. We celebrated her birthday and we went ice skating. We arrived late back. When we came home my cousin was allowed to open the gifts from the entire family. She was very happy.

Today I made a present for my father´s birthday. I had him cut a car in which I gluedapictureof himself.
The gift he has got at New Year's Eve, because that day was his birthday.

Today I went shopping with my mother and Alex in the Spandau Arcades. We first bought a PC game at Saturn and then we went to eat pizza. Then we bought rockets for New Year's Eve. Next we went home.

Today I was with my family in the Castle “Sans Souci” in Potsdam. We had a guided tour. We heard about King Frederick the 2nd and his wife. We could see many rooms. After that we went into the museum´s shop and there we have bought something. We drove home and I've cleaned up my room. At 11 o´clock in the night we went to sleep.

New Year's Eve I threw with my sister China firecrackers out of the window. In the living room there were a lot of candles. My little sister lit a China firework with a candle and than she ran with the firecracker through the apartment. When my uncle saw that he has beaten the fireworks from her hand. The firecracker exploded on the kitchen floor. On the floor now is a small black - brown spot.

It is a very exciting book! The book shows a situation of violence in school.
At fist the situation seems to be hopeless. But Hannah finds a way to defend themselves.
We made an online - quiz about the book
We did role - plays on bullying. This enabled us to learn how to feel in the situation - I was injured! Benni (5c, Germany)
